The John R. Oishei Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in Western New York is pleased to announce the promotion of Curtis W. Robbins to Director of Strategy, Research and Evaluation, effective immediately. Robbins has served as the Foundation’s full-time Knowledge Management Officer since 2013 and had previously served in a shared Knowledge Management position between the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo and the Oishei Foundation beginning in 2010.
Robbins will manage a comprehensive framework for integrating strategy, research and evaluation into all levels of decision-making. He will report to and support the President in the provision of strategic analysis, and advice into the development, and implementation of the Foundation’s strategic initiatives and Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Robbins will also continue to collaborate with community partners with respect to strategy, learning and impact.
“Curtis has added critical depth to our team in better understanding our impact. He has been an asset to our organization in guiding both the Board of Directors and staff on our strategic grantmaking and evaluation strategy,” said Robert D. Gioia, President of the Oishei Foundation. “Curtis’ diverse experience, dedication and hard work have been tremendously important for our team as we work to address many of our community’s toughest issues and evaluate how we can best use our resources,” added Gioia.
Prior to his Foundation work, Robbins was a Project Manager for Verdi & Company and a Network Analyst in the Management Development Program at M&T Bank. He holds a Masters of Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design from the University at Buffalo (UB). Robbins’ professional development includes Buffalo State College’s Graduate Course in Data Science and Analytics and University at Buffalo School of Management’s Leadership Accelerator Program. His professional associations include Data Analysts for Social Good, NY Open Statistical Programming and the American Evaluation Association.
